Here is the beginning of our master! We carried the same Behr Cathedral Grey paint from the first floor into our master because it was easy and we had so much excess. There is a chance down the road I'll change it up a bit. We carried the refinished hardwoods in as well (a decision I'm still on the fence about). Perhaps I need to invest in a nice, large area rug for coziness! I could not be more in love with this bed! I have been eyeing this bed for almost a year. Every time I turned around to buy it, it was out of stock. This bed is a queen and was purchased from wayfair.com. I could not be more pleased with it. It shipped in three giant boxes. It was slightly time consuming to put together, however. The nailhead trim is the perfect touch to such a simple bed. Also, no box spring required! The bedding is from Homegoods. This is the first time I have ever bought white sheets! I'm still so unsure of them, but love how bright and clean they make the room look. The blush pink quilt set was not my first choice, but it works! The grey duvet set is awaiting a new, fluffy down insert, but is a super soft microfiber material. The end stand is a hand-me-down that's going to get a good paint job this summer! Maybe a little silver leafing and crystal knob! I will also be on the hunt for a companion for this end table! :) The silver, silky curtains are from Kohls. They were extremely inexpensive. I wish that they had blackout backing, but that can always be added. Now to find the perfect accessories and round mirror for above the bed!

I found this beauty at a yard sale a few years ago and fell in love! It is the cutest shape and was only $10! I completely gutted the chair down to its frame and springs. I replaced the foam and batting and found a super durable fabric shower curtain at Tj Maxx to reupholster it in. Our first floor bath was probably the most labor intensive project we took on last year. We gutted an entry way closet to convert a half bath into a full, since our home only had one other full bathroom. My husband Brent and I did 100% of the gutting and hired a contractor to plumb, drywall, lay floor tile, and install the shower, toilet and vanity. The rest was up to me: paint, install shelving, cosmetic things. We saved a lot of money by finding a contractor who would allow us to outright buy the big supplies, so we were left with primarily a labor only bill. This gave me the opportunity to find bargains and get exactly what I wanted for the price I wanted to spend! Links for the products I used are attached to the photos. In the second photo there is a hall linen closet we also removed to allow more space in the soon to be full bath. In the third and forth photos you can see a soffett that housed plumbing that we scaled down as small as we could to allow more room as well. I will never buy another brand of towels Rug: Home Goods Shelves: I custom made to fit the opening and are painted in Behr Polar Bear Vent Cover: Home Depot My living room is by far my favorite room in my house. It's simple. Here are some before and after photos as well as products used. As you will see in the post renovation photos we took up the carpet in the living room and refinished the oak hardwoods that were hiding underneath (we didn't discover the hardwoods until after we closed on the home!) In the entry way we spent hours scraping up layers of vinyl stick tiles and refinished it as well. We rented a sander from Home Depot and spent a few days making our house a dusty mess. So much time and sweat was put into refinishing these floors. My hands were bloody and blistered for weeks after taking up so many nails and staples from the floor. If I could go back, I probably would have hired a professional, but in the end we saved thousands of dollars by refinishing them ourselves. The results are absolutely night and day! Along with refinishing the floors, I also sanded down the iron banister and repainted it. Here are the products used Floor stain: 2 parts Minwax Mahogany, 1 part Minwax ebony Wall Color: Behr Cathedral Gray (We painted our entire main floor this color with the exception of the bathroom) Trim Color: Behr Polar Bear Overall, I was pretty happy with the coverage I got with Behr premium ultra paint. It only took 1 coat of paint for the walls in most places. I did, however, change my white paint about half way through. I started out using the Behr ultra white unmixed but was having issues with coverage, I picked the next brightest white which was Polar Bear. It made a world of a difference having tint added to the paint. I had about 3 coats of paint on the trim. Decor products

Needless to say, those hedges are no longer there thanks to my husband and father-in-law! Hello everyone. As stated in my 'about me' my name is Beth. My husband and I bought our first home in May 2014 and started renovations in July 2014. A little about our home Our home was built in 1966 and was 4 bedroom, 1.5 bath when we purchased it . It is nestled in a cute, established neighborhood near Columbus, Ohio. Our home is approximately 1800 square feet not including a 700 square foot unfinished basement complete with a detached 700 square foot, two car garage and an attached half garage (I'll explain later!). Our home was a foreclosed home that had been decently renovated (and by renovated I mean new paint and carpet only) by the bank that owned the home. 
This summer I have big plans for the exterior of our home. We spent the majority of last summer working on the interior and neglected the exterior (sorry neighbors!).
