Today while browsing online I found a steal on two matching arm chairs at a local resale store. $12.50 a piece, so I sped all the way there right after work! Too good of a deal to pass up, even if I end up not finding a spot in my own home for them. Below is my inspiration. I love the bold yet simple look of this couch and I think it would look great in chair form. I will probably do away with the seashell look of the chairs and opt for tufting for a more modern feel. Thoughts?!

So this evening I finished up a little project with a set of deer antler I begged my dad for. They are pretty meaningful because they are from a deer he got personally (sorry animal rights activists). I'm still on the fence about the style and size of "S" I chose to paint, but I'll give it a few days! Here is where they are currently hanging! Our grass is coming in nicely around the retaining wall I put around our tree. And how pretty are these blooms it's starting to grow?! I can't wait to get outside this weekend and make some more improvements. First off, congratulations Christofer and Stephanie! When it came to deciding what to get my sibling-in-laws for their big day, I knew I wanted it to be meaningful. I wanted to create something I would have been excited about getting for my wedding. Sure, gift cards are fabulous and so are the 10th set of casserole dishes, but you don't look back 5 years down the road and think "aw... those are the most thoughtful casserole dishes". Chris and Stephanie lived long distance most of their premarried life, so I wanted to include that so I framed an Ohio-Indiana map and marked all the places they have lived with rhinestone hearts. And, well, the spoon art is just cute (Thanks Pinterest!). For her shower, I got her engraved forks. One says "I do" and the other says "me too". She mentioned framing them after the wedding and putting them in her kitchen, so I'm just adding to the collection! As you will recall from my previous post about my living room makeover, my staircase got an overhaul as well. I am in love with how it turned out. Not too long after I completed the stairs, I added these empty picture frames I found at an antique mall. Some of them I painted to fit my color scheme, but several were already dead on. I can't tell you the number of times people have asked why they are empty and my mom isn't particularly a fan. Perhaps some day I'll change it up or add pictures, but I am content with the simplicity of it! Also, at some point down the line I want to add a runner to my stairs and I'll be sure to write about it when I do. |
