If you're anything like myself, your Christmas theme isn't traditional red and green. In fact, these are up there in my top least favorite colors. I'm sure if I just bit the bullet and decided to decorate this year in these colors, I would be filled with immediate regret come this time next year when I pull it all back out. One thing I've learned during this whole home ownership experience, keep it classy and neutral. Trends go out of style and fill you with "what was I thinking?" down the road. This year as I was pulling out my holiday decor, I had this happen. Years before I was so consumed with getting major home renovations done that I simply just put up the decorations I had put up for 3+ years. There was no flow or consistency to my decor. It was purely an accumulation of things picked up here and there with no plan. This year, that all changed. I came up with a vision of what I wanted my home to look and feel like. I guess that's all part of coming into my own. The point of this post, don't be turned off by something just because it isn't "your style". While on a recent trip to Target I saw these adorable red sleds. But they were RED. Ew. A few days after leaving the store red sled-less, it dawned on me. They don't have to red. There's this glorious thing called spray paint. And so I marched back into Target, proudly picked up these red sleds and headed for the checkout (or did I browse, then browse some more. Noone has to know). Happy Monday!

Shopping for Christmas decorations has always been something that I am looking forward to in doing. I do not really know, but ever since I was a little kid, I love the idea of Christmas shopping. Just the thought that I am buying gifts for other people make me so happy. I know that many people would rather receive than to give, but in my case, I do not care much if I receive gifts. All I want is to make my loved ones happy.
