With July 4th being Saturday, my work is closed Friday which called for taking the day off Thursday... Can you say 5 day weekend for me (I don't work Monday's 😉)? That made time for putting the carpet we originally tore up throughout the house (that's been hanging out in our garage for a year) into our basement. We kept the carpet because it had just been installed by the sellers right before we moved in. Why throw out brand new carpet? I loathe our basement with all of my being. It needs some major TLC, but hey... you have to start somewhere. It's 700 square feet of unfinished darkness/dinginess. Some day I'll get around to waterproof painting the walls and figuring out a ceiling solution. I'm torn between spraying the ceiling all white or some sort of drop ceiling or a combination of both. I want to keep this project super cheap since we don't exactly use this space for much more than doing laundry. As you can see the carpet doesn't cover the entire basement, but that's okay with me. There is a lot of moisture going on on the back half of the basement because of our washer and air conditioner unit drain. I just cannot wait to freshen up the space with light and bright paint on those walls. Happy Thursday!
