Hello everyone! Today, I want to take you on the journey I took while picking the perfect bedside lamps for our bedroom! I will show you the various lamps I contemplated on for my oh-so very monotone home (I wouldn't have it any other way). Starting with my bedroom paint color, if you have been following my blog for some time, you'll notice the repeat paint offender 'cathedral gray' by Behr. This color is dawned in most of the rooms in my home. While I'm itching to change it to a more lighter, airier color, I've decided to dress it up with lighter accessories in the meantime. My bed frame can be found here. My bedside tables are no longer available online through target, but here is one that is similar without a drawer. And here is one with a drawer. I adore the second one entirely.. Now on to the lamps! I ultimately decided on these lamps for the following reasons: 1. I wanted lamps with height. Since my nightstands are on the shorter side, I wanted to balance out the short stands and taller headboard. Also, I quite enjoy not smacking my head on a lamp shade while reaching for something on my night stand ;) 2. I enjoy every opportunity to throw in 'glamorous' looking pieces in my homes design. While there are more rustic elements to my home, I love a good balance of old and new. The Mercury glass brings out the nailhead trim the headboard. 3. The lighter lamp shades add contrast from the dark grey walls. The previous lamps that I was using were beautiful, but the grey lamp shades just disappeared into the wall. While, these shades aren't as stark white as I wish they were, beggers can't be choosers. 4. Lastly, these lamps cost me $7.50 for both after using a gift card given to me from Value City Furniture for participating in a newsletter last September. Can you say score? I've been debating on what to use the gift card on for months and these just seemed like a perfect fit. Here were my runner up choices.
